Mr Swenson
graduated from the
University of Utah in
1982 with a B.A. in
Political Science. He
also received a
Masters in
International
Business from the
University of South
Carolina and an
Advanced Certificate
of Arabic Training
from American
University of Cairo.
Prior to Colonial
Flag, Paul worked as
a consultant for
Price Waterhouse in
Saudi Arabia and for
American Express Bank
in Cairo. He has also
lived in Israel and
Portugal, and is
fluent in Arabic,
Hebrew, Portuguese
and
Spanish.
In 2002 Paul
served as a Flag
Protocol Consultant
and Medals Ceremony
Flag Protocol
Enforcement at the
Salt Lake City
Olympic Games. Paul
was the 2004
recipient of the
George Washington
Medal of Honor,
awarded by the
Freedom Foundation at
Valley Forge for his
contributions to
encourage patriotism.
He was named Citizen
of the Year by Sandy
City and by the Utah
Division of the
National Exchange
Club. He was also
named Patriot of the
Year by Hill Air
Force Base in 2004
and received the rank
of Honorary
Commander. In
addition, the Salt
Lake Chamber of
Commerce has honored
him with the Patriot
Award and the
Community Service of
the Year
Award.
Paul was
just named as the
Army Reserve
Ambassador
representing the
state of Utah in all
Army to Business
relations through
2009.
Paul sits on
the boards of several
local and national
organizations,
including the Sandy
Area Chamber of
Commerce, Roots of
Freedom Foundation,
and the Statue of
Responsibility
project. Paul
currently resides in
Sandy, Utah, with his
wife and two
children.
Bill
Wing,
Production
Coordinator
Bill Wing is the
Purchasing and Production
Director at Colonial Flag.
Bill personally manages the
fabrication and assembly of
all giant flags, custom
orders, and specialty
projects.
During the 2002 Winter
Olympics, Bill worked
closely with Cities and
Towns to implement the
international look of the
games and to maximize
pagentry dollars. Bill's
large event flags have been
called the "biggest and
best in the industry for
assembly and longevity."
His flags have been
featured on the fields of
NFL stadiums, University
stadiums, on television, at
other high-profile events,
and as permanent design
fixtures.
Bill implemented the look
and protocol for all flags
and banners used in the
2002 Winter Olympics in
Salt Lake City. In 2004
Bill went to Greece to make
recommendations for the
look of the Athens Olympic
Games. More recently, Bill
implemented the protocol
and look for all the
events, venues, and
ceremonies for the 2007
Deaflympics in Salt Lake
City. He initiated the
creation of the first ever
Deaflympic Cauldron. Bill
is fluent in American Sign
Language.
Prior to joining Colonial
Flag, Bill was Director of
Operations for a
multi-million dollar
restaurant chain in Texas,
the Corporate Director of
Purchasing for a large
pizza franchise and
successfully ran his own
restaurant franchise. All
of this experience helps
Bill and the team at
Colonial Flag and Event
Arts and Protocol to
provide the highest quality
product for all of their
customers.
An active member of the
community, Bill has been
involved with the Boy
Scouts of America for over
20 years. Bill and his wife
live in Sandy, Utah. They
have four children and two
grandchildren.
